SOUTH DOWNS

This series of paintings was inspired by the landscape around Findon Valley, where my grandparents lived during their retirement in a bungalow on the hillside, close to Cissbury Ring, an Iron Age hillfort. Every Sunday my sisters and I visited them for lunch, and during the long, hot summer afternoons, we would go for walks 'up the downs'. From my memories of those days, I created these images of a landscape that I have always loved.
